- How does the Lots2 service work?
- We are not a conventional courier therefore we work differently to couriers moving boxes and envelopes. Once you have received a quote from us you should choose which service you require, the Express or Economy service. We advise you then to advise the seller that you intend for Lots2 to collect the item/s and on what terms your service dictates e.g. Economy service, collection within 7 working days, 1 Man collection etc. Then please complete your booking as per the instructions in your quote email and unless prior agreed with us please pay the booking deposit of £20 securely online by either PayPal or credit card. Once we have your completed booking and deposit we will then contact the seller to make the collection arrangements - it is best that we do this as not only does it save you the hassle but it allows us to find the most convenient slot and discuss the removal specifics. Once collection has been agreed we will then let you know. It is then sometimes possible to nominate a delivery slot for you but if not we will get back to you ASAP and discuss delivery possibilities.
- Which service should I choose?
- Should collection/delivery be required on a specific day (e.g. only Saturday) and/or time then you should choose the Express service. If collection/delivery availability is reasonably flexible and it is understood that delivery can take more than 7 days then the Economy service is sufficient. Look at it this way: The Express service is a black taxi that is faster and operates on your terms as opposed to the Economy service that is a bus making multiple stops, takes a little longer but is going your way along with a few other people and the price is right!
- How does the Economy Service work?
- We will collect the item within 7 days and move it in our secure, insured, clean and dry storage. We then contact you to agree a convenient delivery slot within 10 days of collection (7 days if delivery is within the M25). Currently within the M25 we are completing delivery within 1-5 days, outside the M25 within 1-10 days. We always try to arrange delivery ASAP.
- Will the Economy Service work for the seller?
- It is advisable to check with the seller first before bidding to check their availability for collection.
- What if the Economy Service collection/delivery slot offered is not accepted?
- We will contact the seller and offer a collection slot within 7 working days of your booking. If this slot is rejected (seller or 1 Man assistance unavailable) then collection and delivery may be delayed. We will try to be as flexible as possible but our vehicles are not in all areas every day of the week. Similarly, we will offer a delivery slot but delivery may be delayed if it can not be met by the client.
- 1 Man or 2 Man collection and delivery?
- Larger items can be handled on a 1 Man basis if assistance can be arranged at the collection and delivery address. Otherwise opt for the 2 Man service.
- Will the seller pack or wrap my items?
- In our experience few sellers of Collection Only items ever pack or wrap items in preparation for transport. Items we carry are strapped and secured during transportation and covered in transport blankets. Our storage facility is commercial therefore it is clean, dry and warm but no standard additional protection is offered. You may wish to take advantage of our Pack & Protect Service. For sofas and mattresses we offer polythene protective covers. For items such as tables, chests of drawers, wardrobes or any other similar items we can professionally wrap them in bubblewrap or foam wrap on arrival at the collection location for the journey to you. Contact us for more details.
- What sort of delivery slot do Lots2 provide?
- We always provide a 2 hour slot. This slot is agreed with the client at the collection/delivery address in advance and refers to our arrival time, not the completion of the collection/delivery. We always try to be flexible regarding the slots we provide but regular slots are provided between 9am-6pm (between 10am-4pm in Central London). Again, if you require collection/delivery at a specific time it might be best to opt for the Express service.
- Will Lots2 move the item at either address?
- Yes, we can move the item within the collection and delivery premises although conditions apply. Both services include delivery to the ground floor and for most items we will provide a quote for delivery to the 1st floor. Normally additional charges apply for delivery to the 1st floor to cover our time. Collection/delivery beyond the first floor is sometimes possible and will depend on the item and circumstances but will be subject to additional cost.
- Measure up!
- Please ensure your purchase will fit through doorways and stairwells in advance by measuring up!
- Is the quoted price fixed?
- Generally, yes, but not always. Without an eBay item number all prices are indicative. Prices quoted assume collection/delivery from/to the ground floor. It is advisable to check with the seller where the item is to be collected from. Incomplete or misleading information may result in additional charges so it is best to check first.
- How and when do I pay?
- We require a £20 booking deposit when making a booking. This is fully refundable against the total delivery fee and the remaining fee is payable by cash or cheque on delivery.
- Why should I choose Lots2?
- Take a look a our homepage - we publish our punctuality performance so naturally we take this very seriously. The few occasions we have been late were due to adverse traffic conditions (gridlocked motorways etc). We always complete the jobs we take on unlike many of our competitors - we won't gazump you if we get a more attractive job!
- Do Lots2 operate on weekends and evenings?
- On the Economy service we typically offer 2 hour slots between 9am-6pm Mon-Fri (10am-4pm in Central London). Evening collections (6-8pm) are occasionally possible in south London but it is best to check with us first. We advise you ask the seller their availability to release items prior to the end of the auction. Please also note that if collection/delivery is required on a specific day (e.g. Saturday) or time then it is best to opt for the Express service.
